‌Windows can change their opening direction. ‌Specifically, inward-opening windows can be changed to outward-opening doors, but this requires approval from the property management, and care must be taken not to affect neighbors or cause safety hazards. In addition, inward-opening windows can also be changed to 180-degree casement windows. The specific steps include removing the wind brace that controls the window opening angle, removing the hinge parts on the window frame, installing new hinges and testing to ensure that the opening and closing angles are not blocked or make abnormal noises. ‌

Specific steps to change the opening direction of windows

  • ‌Remove the original window‌: Use a flat-blade screwdriver and pliers to remove the wind brace that controls the window opening angle, and remove the hinge parts on the window frame and sash.

  • ‌Install new hinges‌: Use an electric drill to drill holes for the positioning buckles on the window frame where the new hinges are installed, install the hinges and test their stability.

  • ‌Adjust the window angle‌: Push the window flat, ensure that the hinges are in the groove, and test the opening and closing angles without obstruction or abnormal noises.

  • ‌Fix the hinges‌: Fix the remaining screws to ensure the window is stable.
